Total Dhamaal not releasing in Pakistan: Ajay Devgn

Ajay Devgn announced on Twitter, the multi-starrer comedy Total Dhamaal will not release in Pakistan in the wake Pulwama terror attack.

Indian film star Ajay Devgn announced on Monday, his forthcoming film Total Dhamaal will not release in Pakistan. It was decided in the wake of Pulwama terror attack that killed 49 Indian security personnel last week.

At least 44 Indian paramilitary soldiers were killed on Thursday, February 14, in occupied Kashmir in a deadliest attack on Central Reserve Police Force.

A Pakistan-based Deobandi jihadist group active in Kashmir, Jaish-e-Muhammad has claimed responsibilities for the deadly attack.

Total Dhamaal’s director Indra Kumar also shared to not release their film. He told Indian media, “Being a part of Indian film industry, it’s my and my team’s way of protest against the heinous terror attack.

The multi-starrer comedy “Total Dhamaal” is the third film in the Dhamaal franchise and a sequel to 2011 film Double Dhamaal.

The film features an all-star ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey, Madhuri Dixit, Esha Gupta, Boman Irani, Sanjay Mishra and Anil Kapoor.

Devgn’s decision to not release Total Dhamaal came as the All Indian Cine Workers Association announced a complete ban on Pakistani actors and artists in the aftermath of the Pulwama attack.
